Dan Scharfman, a wonderful colleague and friend, died last night.
I am shocked and grief-stricken, so it’s difficult to say more right now.
To his loved ones, all I can say are some words inspired by the Jewish tradition:
May the Omnipresent console you among the other mourners of Zion, Jerusalem, and the world.

Deborah — I’m sorry for your and our loss. I can’t recall if I ever met Dan, but I interacted with him a bit on ISF and NTEN’s mailing lists, where he was always very knowledgeable and helpful. I know that he will be missed.
This is shocking news. A nicer man than Dan you could not hope to meet. He gave us very good advice in my early days in NPT.
